Express Lab is seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead our Garden City laboratory team.

Position Summary

As the Phlebotomy Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of our Garden City patient service center. You will lead a team of phlebotomists, laboratory processors, and reception staff while ensuring every patient receives exceptional service and every specimen is collected, processed, and transported accurately and efficiently.

This is a hands-on leadership position. In addition to supervising staff, you'll actively participate in patient care, specimen collection, and daily laboratory operations while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily activities of phlebotomists, laboratory processors, and reception staff
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop team members to achieve exceptional performance
  • Coordinate daily staffing and workflow to ensure efficient patient service
  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection as needed
  • Ensure specimens are properly collected, labeled, processed, stored, and transported
  • Monitor quality standards and maintain compliance with laboratory policies and regulatory requirements
  • Train and onboard new employees and provide ongoing competency assessments
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide regular coaching and feedback
  • Resolve patient concerns and provide outstanding customer service
  • Collaborate with laboratory leadership to improve workflow, productivity, and patient satisfaction
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory and phlebotomy supplies
  • Ensure laboratory equipment and work areas are clean, organized, and operating properly
  • Assist with scheduling, coverage, and other operational responsibilities as needed
  • Travel occasionally to support other Treasure Valley Express Lab locations
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Excellent venipuncture and specimen collection skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of laboratory specimen handling and processing procedures

Preferred:

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), PBT (ASCP), or equivalent certification
  • Experience supervising phlebotomy, laboratory processing, or patient service center staff
  • Experience with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
