Pay:ย
The hourly rate for this position is between $18.00 - $25.00 per hour.Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Job Purpose:
The Oil Lab Technician is responsible for the testing and documentation of transformer insulating fluids in production laboratory environments.Candidate must be detail-oriented, have experience working with chemicals, and be confident working with electronic test instruments in a lab environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive and document incoming fluid samples from customers.
- Perform checks and calibrations on laboratory equipment.
- Test fluid samples to determine their physical, electrical, and chemical properties.
- Analyze test results to confirm their validity.
- Perform routine maintenance on test equipment.
- Wash glassware and sample containers as necessary.
- Maintain laboratory as a clean and orderly work area
- Coordinate the distribution of sampling materials to customers.
- Participate in lab quality programs and improvements.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or GED.ย
- Must be able to frequently kneel, bend, stand, crouch, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds to accomplish job tasks.
Preferred:
- Associate's degree in chemistry, biology, or related field of science.
- Strong skills working with computers and digital testing equipment, including efficient data entry.
- Ability to work safely, accurately, and efficiently both independently and as part of a small team.
- Capable of prioritizing multiple goals to meet deadlines.
- Professional experience working in a laboratory setting is a plus but not required.
