Job Description 

Typing of reports and procedures.  Answering phone and route calls appropriately.  Copy, fax, and scan as needed for the department.  Assist with Policy Tech. Assist with front office duties.  Assists basic histology functions when needed (pulling slides/reports, filing slides blocks, labeling). Assists with QC and documentation, and temperature logs.  Prepares for pathology reviews/tumor conference when requested.  Maintains confidentiality of patient, client and/or company records.  Participates in departmental/facility meetings and all required continuing education/EST. Performs other duties as assigned.

 Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates and Bachelors a plus.

License, Certifications, Etc:

  • A certificate program or enrollment in a Histology program is a plus, but not required. 
  • Phlebotomy is preferred, not required.

Experience Preferred:

  • 1 year in a hospital or clinical setting. Attention to detail, accuracy, and typing skills. Attention to detail, precision working with tools/instruments, written and verbal communication skills, time management, customer service experience. Medical terminology, proficient with MSWord, Excel. Knowledge of Meditech is a plus. Knowledge of CPT and IDC codes is a plus. Lab Core knowledge and the ability to draw blood from patients of all ages.
