Position Announcement
Utah Valley University is seeking a student to work as a Lab Assistant for the Biology department.
A greenhouse worker will work a minimum of 10 hours a week with a maximum of 15 - 20. Greenhouse workers must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in hot or uncomfortable environments. Preference is given to botany majors and biology majors.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Follow methodologies in carrying out routine tasks.
- Maintain work area and equipment.
- Provide administrative assistance to instructors.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Must be a current UVU student.
- Completion of Biology 1010 or higher level of understanding of the Life Sciences (some courses may require a more advanced knowledge).
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Accuracy and close attention to detail
- Strong analytical judgment
- Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment
- Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems
