The Lab Technician supports laboratory-based scientific investigations by carrying out routine technical tasks and experiments. Lab technicians work with laboratory equipment to analyze samples or substances, they conduct tests on those samples or substances, and report on their findings. Requirements
Behavioral Competencies:
  • Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes or equipment preferably of polymer industry

Key Responsibilities:
  • Keep lab area neat and clean, maintaining OLA (5S) standards
  • Complete COA's for shipments
  • Monitor substandard reports daily, to ensure product is appropriately segregated
  • Conduct inspections of slit rolls and finished good packages
  • Perform extra testing for complaint investigation and new product development
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment according to calibration schedule
  • Take samples for Special Quality Control (Bioburden, Organotin, etc) tests when needed
  • Communicate with off and on-coming lab technician to ensure proper handoff
  • Complete Special Projects as assigned
  • Conduct frequent reviews and updates to QC documents for the lab
  • Perform laboratory inventory of consumables
  • Manage retains and inventory of hand sheet samples
  • Assist operating teams as needed to improve quality
  • Create or Revise Operation Run Documents (Ops docs)
  • Assist in investigation and resolution of customer complaints

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • High School diploma required, additional education a plus
  • Three (3) years manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Ability to convert to different units, metric and English
  • Ability to read and interpret operations documents, product specifications and customer specifications
  • Basic data analysis: average, range, standard deviation
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office proficient using e-mail, Excel and Word and MES)
  • Flex work schedule - may need to work nights and/or weekends periodically dependent upon production demands.
