Job description

 

Summary: The Laboratory Assistant (Mid-Shift) will play an integral role in our lab operations team and be responsible for lab organization, shipping and receiving client projects, maintaining inventory and supplies, slide and cassette printing, slide cleaning, and scanning while following strict quality control and quality assurance standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Organizing and maintaining the laboratory to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
  • Shipping and receiving client projects and samples, including preparing and labeling materials for transport
  • Maintaining inventory and supplies, including ordering and restocking as needed
  • Performing slide and cassette printing, slide cleaning, and scanning according to established protocols
  • Following strict quality control and quality assurance standard operating procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
  • Must be available to work 10:30am to 7:00pm 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting. Experience as a lab aid is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to be a quick learner and follow instructions
  • Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
  • Availability to work weekends to reach revenue goals a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
  • Excellent fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for precise specimen handling and equipment operation.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
