Job description

Lincoln Tech in Mahwah, NJis looking for a Welding Instructor Lab Assistant to set up classroom procedures and activities under the direct supervision of the classroom instructor and assist in the installation of equipment for specified classes or laboratory projects. You would help students in lab activities and perform miscellaneous administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Help ensure that proper materials are available and ready for each lab session
  • Assist students in the lab as appropriate; provide guidance in the functional operation of procedures and equipment
  • Follow detailed procedures and instructions when setting up lab experiments and lab activity
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment and report any operating deficiencies to the supervisor
  • Facilitate cleaning the lab and equipment after lab exercises are complete; break down and store supplies and equipment as applicable
  • Practice and enforce safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods
  • Evaluate and assist in the resolution of student issues and problems, and take appropriate action to the satisfaction of the student and in compliance with the policies, procedures, and legal requirements of the Company and/or regulatory agencies

Requirements of an HVAC Program Lab Assistant:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with HVAC systems, equipment, and components
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical HVAC systems
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with students

Preferred Qualifications

  • HVAC technical certification or associate degree in HVAC/Refrigeration
  • Experience with HVAC Systems
