Title: Technical Lab - Lab Assistant

Contract Duration: 6+ months.

Hrs/Wk: 40.00

Location: 8075 N. Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis IN 46250

Pay Rate: $18/ Hr to $20.00/ Hr on W2.

 

Job Description:

Perform the daily activities as described below. Basic Purpose: Perform various routine laboratory functions in a precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff and to facilitate production.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sorting and receiving specimens in the department.
  • Performs routine instrument maintenance on some equipment.
  • Performs laboratory tasks of centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, recording data (temperature charts), specimen storage, and retrieval.
  • Preparing reagents and or media in the department.
  • Preparing specimens at workstations for testing. (Including building worklists, aliquoting specimens into sample cups, checking specimens for clots and fibrin, inoculation, and slide preparation)

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical assistant training helpful. Math and science courses preferred.


Additional Job Details:  Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Diploma and Color blind testing required

State of Credentials Licenses Required: NO

Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM with a potential weekend rotation based on need. Training would be on the day shift, possibly 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Candidate will work every other weekend and have a day off during the week after the weekend they work
