Job Summary:

The Lab Quality Control Technician is responsible for obtaining samples of materials from the Mixing Department and testing those samples for quality parameters.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating lab equipment as necessary to ensure successful testing of quality parameters.
    • Including but not limited thickness, color, gravity, and cure, etc.
  • Calibrate lab equipment before the beginning of each shift.
  • Manually record data in a correct manner to ensure accurate reports
  • Maintain rubber with specified ranges and retest rubber that was reclaimed by Quality Control.
  • Testing, investigating, and finding solutions to correct problems in physical properties, cure rate, gravity, color, and thickness.
  • Maintain the many different lab processes
    • Color master processes
    • Cataloging
    • Storing
    • Cross-referencing
    • Color Matching Samples
    • Quality checks
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Functions:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to accurately write or otherwise record information such that it is readily useable by coworkers, customers, vendors and others;
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, customers, vendors and others.
  • Detailed oriented, good with basic math and able to work in team environment required.
  • Experience and ability to work in computer applications.
  • Ability to work without supervision and to make appropriate decisions.
