Description:

Responsibilities

Routine Laboratory Maintenance & Equipment Support – 50%

· Assist with routine laboratory procedures under supervision

· Follow established protocols and detailed instructions provided by senior staff

· Record basic observations or data as directed

· Inventory, order, receive, and stock appropriate levels of raw materials and lab consumables

· Perform daily lab equipment calibration/verification checks– including pH meters, cell counters and biochemical analyzers

· Perform routine lab equipment/glassware cleaning and maintenance activities

· Data acquisition in paper and electronic systems

· Mange hazardous waste disposal

Bioreactor Support Activities – 30%

· Support for 3L, 7L and 15L Bioreactors systems

· Setup, calibration, troubleshooting and breakdown/decontamination

· Track & and perform required maintenance

· Perform routine sampling of ongoing cultures

Downstream Support Activities – 20%

· Clean and autoclave glassware,

· Sanitize automated systems (e.g. AKTA, Protein Maker, Tecan)

· Track & and perform required maintenance

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Biotechnology, Biology or related field + 1 years experience in an industrial laboratory

· Strong attention to detail and work ethic

· Basic understanding of and interest in cell biology

· Prior experience with Bioreactor, Filtration systems, Akta Chromatography systems or TFF systems would be plus

· Works well as part of a team

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Reports to Process Development Associate Director/Director
