Job description

We’re hiring a Lab Assistant I to join our SkinPath Solutions team in Smyrna, GA. This position supports our dermatopathology laboratory through specimen handling, laboratory data entry, patient record management, and general lab support functions.

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM.

SkinPath Solutions, an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology, is an indepedent dermatopathology laboratory specializing in the diagnosis of skin, hair, and nail disorders of all types. The highly skilled and experienced technologists provide expert evaluation of the biopsy specimen on state of the art equipment, along with clinicial correlation in order to arrive at an accurate diagnosis for the clinical healthcare provider.

Essential Job Duties and Accountabilities: As assigned but not limited to the following:

  • Enter patient information into the laboratory information system
  • Assign case numbers to specimens, slides, and cassettes
  • Pull and file patient records for physicians, client services, and laboratory staff
  • Match and quality check patient records for accuracy
  • Change solutions in laboratory processors
  • Change solutions in laboratory stainers
  • Fill client supply orders
  • Stock and organize laboratory supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Experience & Education:

  • Associate degree required
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and internal teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment
