Job Description:
Certified Medical Assistant - Hematology & Oncology
Locations: DeLand and Orange City, FL (Primary coverage between these two sites)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
About the Role
Join our specialized Hematology/Oncology team at Mid Florida Cancer Centers as a Certified Medical Assistant. You will work primarily between our DeLand and Orange City offices, providing high-quality clinical care and administrative coordination.
Key Responsibilities
  • Advanced Phlebotomy: Perform frequent venipuncture and specimen collection for oncology patients with high accuracy.
  • Clinical Support: Assist with patient intake, vitals, and rooming; support providers and staff with other clinical needs.
  • Lab Coordination: Process and prepare specimens for transport, ensuring all labeling and documentation meet strict safety standards.
  • Patient Navigation: Manage patient charts, scan medical records, and monitor daily schedules to ensure a seamless clinic experience.
  • Communication: Act as a bridge between patients and providers; bilingual candidates will provide essential translation support for our Spanish-speaking patient population.

Required Qualifications
  • Certification: Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting (Oncology/Hematology experience preferred).
  • Technical Skill: Minimum 1 year of experience with venipuncture and specimen collection.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Travel: Reliable transportation to rotate between the DeLand and Orange City locations.
