Are you detail-oriented, passionate about patient care, and interested in advancing your healthcare career? Orlando Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to join our dedicated laboratory team and play a vital role in supporting diagnostic services that impact patient outcomes every day.

What You'll Do

As a Laboratory Assistant II, you will:

Receive, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing
Register patients and enter laboratory orders accurately
Demonstrate knowledge of specimen collection and handling requirements
Process pathology specimens and maintain specimen integrity
Support patient registration and reimbursement requirements
Assist with laboratory quality improvement initiatives
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
Provide outstanding customer service to patients and team members
Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Assist with report distribution, filing, scheduling, and laboratory operations
Perform phlebotomy as needed (with approved competency)

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma or GED required
Two (2) years of laboratory or patient care experience preferred
Current students pursuing a degree or certification in Nursing, Medical Technology, Pre-Med, or another related science field may substitute for required experience
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative healthcare team
Flexibility to support departmental needs and varying schedules
