Baptist Medical Center is currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a PRN, various shift opportunity. This candidate will work in our Core Laboratory Department, in the areas of Chemistry and Hematology, at our downtown campus. The main responsibilities of this position are specimen processing and management. This candidate must be comfortable working within a team environment and have excellent customer service skills as this candidate will be working with different physicians and staff. This candidate should have basic knowledge of the computer skills required in the laboratory to perform clerical tasks and specimen accessioning while maintaining knowledge of processing protocols and understanding how to obtain basic information related to testing criteria.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing a variety of clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.

  • Communicating laboratory results and responding to specimen-related questions from physicians and various other caregivers.

  • Collecting blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.

  • Utilizing computer functions.

Medical Laboratory Assistant Experience:

  • Specimen Processing Experience

  • Phlebotomy Experience

Education & Credential Requirements:

  • High School Diploma Required
