Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist
Per Diem - Varied Shifts

Who We Are:
Southern New Hampshire Medical Center's Laboratory (lab) is a fully accredited hospital laboratory. State-of-the-art technology enables doctors to provide our patients with the most accurate diagnoses and the most effective treatment.
About the Job:
The Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist performs duties of Patient Registration, Central Processing and Phlebotomy. The incumbent will also perform specimen collection, receiving and distribution of specimens to the appropriate technical departments and will perform documentation of quality exceptions according to Laboratory protocol.
What You'll Do:
  • Collect, receive, and sort specimens.
  • Draw blood using proper technique. Responsible for accurate patient identification.
  • Accurately key and record patient information and laboratory orders into the information systems.
  • Perform laboratory tasks of centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, specimen storage and retrieval.
  • Prepare specimens for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting specimens, measuring specimens, and checking specimen integrity.
  • Maintain competency in all phlebotomy procedures and protocols.

Who You Are:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred
  • A minimum of one-three years of Laboratory experience preferred.
