Lab Assistant Phlebotomists are healthcare professionals trained to collect blood and other specimens from patients for laboratory analysis. They assist in preparing samples, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring proper labeling and documentation. Their work is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring patient health, as accurate sample collection and handling are essential for reliable test results. In addition to phlebotomy tasks, they may also perform administrative duties and help keep the laboratory organized and compliant with safety standards.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a lab assistant phlebotomist?

To excel as a Lab Assistant Phlebotomist, you need knowledge of specimen collection, laboratory procedures, and a relevant certification or completion of a phlebotomy training program. Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), blood collection equipment, and safety protocols is typically required.
