Job description

The College of Sciences at Northeastern University-NYC is looking for a part-time lab assistant to help with our laboratory instruction at our 71st Street Campus. These will include Biology, Chemistry, and Physics laboratories. This position is 17.5 hours/week and includes, but not limited to:

  • Maintaining proper storage and inventory of all chemicals, supplies, and equipment in all laboratories
  • Piloting lab experiments
  • Preparing lab facilities for lab classes
  • Preparing and safely maintaining chemical solutions, cultures, growth media, and test specimens for laboratory experiments
  • Cleaning of the lab facilities after labs
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies used in the labs
  • Aiding faculty and students within the teaching labs
  • Maintaining Satellite Accumulation Areas and Hazardous Waste Management Areas
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related fields is required.
