Job description

Emergency Medical Technician Laboratory Assistant

Nature of Duties:

The emergency medical technician laboratory assistant works under the direct supervision of faculty members and performs routine standardized laboratory work requiring close attention to detailed procedures in the preparation and basic maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment, inventory and requisition of supplies, assisting faculty in the supervision of students assigned to laboratories, and other related duties and is employed on an individual academic term basis. The candidate will assist faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction, tutor or mentor students, clean equipment and lab area as needed, and obtain materials needed for laboratory instruction.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Three (3) years of full-time, in-field work experience as an AEMT or Paramedic
  • Current State of Georgia Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic license
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Georgia EMS Instructor License
  • PALS and/or ACLS certification
