Salary Range: $19.90 - $27.37
Shift Differentials:
  • $1.27 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
  • $2.15 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
  • $1.10 extra for working weekends

Position Summary
The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant orders, draws, receives and processes laboratory specimens. They are also responsible for specimen accuracy and integrity in all parts of Pre-Analytical specimen handling. In the cancer center they also may support bone marrow biopsies.
Position Qualifications
Experience
  • 1 year laboratory experience or equivalent experience in a healthcare related field is required
  • Experience requirement may be waived after successful completion and attainment of a Certificate of Completion from a Certified Phlebotomy Education program (NACLS: National Association of Clinical Laboratory Science) approved by Asante Laboratory Leadership
  • Specialized hematologic next-generation sequencing (NGS) experience involves analyzing DNA and RNA from blood cancers like leukemias, lymphomas, and myelodysplastic syndromes is preferred

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certification/Licensure
  • PBT : Phlebotomy Technician is preferred
  • MLA: Medical Laboratory Assistant is preferred
