Job description

Kelly Services is seeking dedicated individuals for Seasonal Lab Assistant positions in Salisbury, MD. These roles support Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) production operations and involve tagging horseshoe crabs for the US Fish & Wildlife Service. This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in laboratory sciences or wildlife conservation, with a commitment from June to November 2026.
Location: Salisbury, MD
Pay Rate: $17.75 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:30 AM until finished (usually 4:00–4:30 PM)
Assignment: Seasonal, June–November 2026
Primary Role Responsibilities
  • Assist with horseshoe crab blood collection per SOPs: preparing the collection area, cleaning and handling crabs, aseptic blood collection, and post-collection sanitation.
  • Support laboratory processing: centrifuging, pipetting, sonication, solution preparation, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Safely and aseptically handle filled and unfilled collection bottles in biosafety cabinets.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Clean and maintain lab and production equipment.
  • Apply US Fish & Wildlife Service tags to crabs.

Skill and Education Requirements
  • 1–2 years of experience in a production or lab environment preferred, or a high school diploma.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and protocols.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; exemplary attendance.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic math and computer proficiency.
