Cath Lab Apprentice

Pay Range: $20.50 - $29.75

A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital is seeking a Cath Lab Apprentice to join our Cardiovascular Services team. This apprenticeship offers clinical students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory while working alongside experienced physicians and clinical staff in a patient-centered environment.

Under direct supervision, the Apprentice will assist Cath Lab staff and physicians during invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, neurovascular, and electrophysiology procedures. The Apprentice will receive training in patient monitoring, maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient responses, assisting with procedure room preparation, and interpreting diagnostic data used to support patient care.

This role provides a unique opportunity to develop technical skills, expand clinical knowledge, and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced procedural setting while preparing for a career in cardiovascular healthcare.

  • Schedule: PRN, Day Shift - working between the hours of 7am-5:30pm
  • Facility: St. Elizabeth's Hospital
  • Location: O'Fallon, IL
  • Compensation aligned with your experience

Education Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited cardiovascular technology or radiologic technology program is preferred.

Experience Qualifications:

  • 1 year of direct patient care experience is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Must be actively working toward certification or registry as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), OR actively enrolled in a radiologic technology program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30 days of employment.
