Job description

As a Veterinary Clinic Assistant, you'll be a key part of our mobile clinic team-helping deliver essential veterinary services with compassion, accuracy, and care. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with animals and people. Whether you're just starting out or looking to grow in the pet care industry, we provide full on-the-job training. No previous veterinary experience is required.
No Experience? No Problem.
We provide comprehensive on-the-job training so you can gain the skills needed to thrive in this role-from animal handling and customer service to mobile clinic operations. If you're dependable, motivated to learn, and passionate about animal care, we want you on our team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and assist pet parents throughout the clinic experience, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Safely handle and restrain pets during wellness procedures such as vaccines, nail trims, and microchipping.
  • Prepare and administer vaccines; label and dispense medications appropriately.
  • Collect and prepare blood and fecal samples for lab testing.
  • Support product and service recommendations based on pet lifestyle and health needs.
  • Promote microchipping and educate pet parents on the benefits of preventive care.
  • Drive the company vehicle to and from clinic locations; load and unload equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with your team to ensure clinic goals are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:
  • Perform pet wellness procedures under the supervision of licensed veterinary professionals.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by disinfecting clinic spaces and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage product inventory, including tracking expiration dates.
  • Operate clinic equipment and digital tools such as tablets and Bluetooth-enabled devices.
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and organized clinic space for pets, pet parents, and team members.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to drive a company vehicle to clinic locations.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Available to work weekends and a variety of weekday shifts, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work full clinic days (up to 12-14 hours).
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Professional appearance, punctuality, and strong interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in customer service, retail, or animal care is a plus.
  • Comfortable using tablets and Bluetooth-enabled devices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Willingness to educate pet parents about clinic services and product offerings.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Comfortable occasionally working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and assist in the care and handling of animals.
