Title: Lab Aide

Location: Redwood City , CA

Duration: 6 Months Contract (Possible extension)

Shift: 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) . Working Days will be Sun-Thur or Tues-Sat.

OR

2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm). Working Days will be Sun-Thur or Tues-Sat.

Daily Responsibility

  1. Box opening, scanning samples, sending samples back to the client
  1. Minimum Data entry
  1. Collects Saliva or cheek swabs
  1. Genotyping accessioning
  1. Experienced in working at an environmental safety regulation

Job duties:

  • Responsible for accessioning of genotyping samples.
  • Takes responsibility and ownership for timely and quality completion of work.
  • Become proficient in automated technology required for Genotyping accessioning.
  • Be able to recognize when to escalate issues encountered in the lab
  • Detail-oriented, time-organized. Ensures completion of tasks.
  • Follows all safety rules at Illumina and applies all relevant protocols to his/her work
  • Ability to perform functions accurately.
  • Works to overcome obstacles to completing tasks or assignments.
  • Consistent productivity when transitioning to different areas.
  • Developing network and good interdepartmental communication skills and ability to interact effectively across groups.
  • Works effectively in team environment and shares credit for successes. Is receptive to ideas and feedback from others
  • Ability to clearly communicate WIP to next shift
  • Able to communicate issues with equipment to engineering via ticketing system
