Job description

Electronics Technician 1
Department: Field Operations-Asset Integrity Electrical
Job Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: Salary Non-Exempt
Reports To: Service Supervisor and EFS
Location: Multiple states within the U.S.
Amount of Travel Required: >95%
Work Schedule:
  • Rotational 2 weeks on 2 weeks off
  • Thursday Wednesday shift (additional travel before and after)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Electronics Technician 1 (ET 1) supports field operations by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment on frac locations and shop/warehouse facilities under the direct supervision of assigned mentor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")
  • Performs pre job equipment inspections to ensure reduced equipment downtime during the job.
  • Troubleshoots and performs necessary electrical repairs to malfunctioning equipment.
  • Provides troubleshooting for electronic communications, including computer and software issues.
  • Ensures all frac support equipment on pad location is electronically communicating and in sound condition.
  • Assembles, installs, and repairs electrical equipment and/or EVO frac equipment.
  • Program software parameters to PLCs, VFDS, routers, switches, berthold, and other related programmable equipment.
  • Participates in company safety initiatives including daily programs (written documentation, observations, etc.) and adheres to policies and procedures to ensure the wellbeing of all employees and drive operational excellence.
  • Works as a team to communicate, collaborate, and create strong alignment internally and externally with our partners.
  • Complies with all government, industry and EVO regulations and standards to ensure a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.
  • High proficiency in the maintenance of pumps, blenders, and power generation equipment.
  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate, consistent with the company's Operational Training Matrix and employee's progression plans.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required. Employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
  • Daily overtime required and in person, predictable attendance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
  • High School Diploma or GED. Technical College Training preferred. An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • 12 months previous electrical experience required OR Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or related field.
  • Previous oilfield experience preferred, although not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to prove high aptitude in technical skillsets and competencies as listed below.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Possesses fundamental knowledge of fracturing equipment.
  • Possesses fundamental knowledge of multimeter testing device.
  • Basic proficiency in the maintenance of pumps, blenders, and power generation equipment.
  • Ability to attend, participate, and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including but not limited to H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
  • Attends and successfully completes annual safety and recertification training.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 12 hour shifts for 14 consecutive days.
  • Basic mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to successfully work within a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to receive instruction well and interact in a positive manner within assigned work groups.
  • Basic interpersonal skills.
  • Possess basic proficiency in Microsoft platforms.
  • Ability to learn in a fast paced environment, adapt to change and receptive to new instructions.
  • Fully knowledgeable, compliant and takes initiative to promote and work with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company mandated systems. For new hires, ability to quickly learn company platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADVANCEMENT: (Promotions may occur only after the following qualifications have been satisfied. Promotions are not guaranteed and are subject to availability of position openings.)
  • Time in Position: Minimum 12 months
  • Successful completion of 8 hrs. Radiation Safety program
  • Demonstrated ability to prove a high aptitude in technical skillsets, qualifications, skills, competencies, and abilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Daily required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. When required to go to a wellsite, employees will rideshare with multiple employees. Work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, arc flash suits, safety hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, high voltage gloves, and impact gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. Electronic Technicians are regularly required to lift heavy objects; therefore, Electronic Technicians must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and 50 to 100 lbs. with a team lift.
Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on job demands.
