Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced scientist or familiar with translating signals and techniques to working software for our program developing the next generation of space-based remote sensing. In this position, you will be at the forefront of developing the systems that keep our nation safe and work in emerging technology for synthetic aperture radar, from signals processing to image creation. This position will be at the forefront of keeping the United States ahead of its adversaries.

The team is primarily based in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This work requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen holding an active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with a CI Polygraph.

This position is an on-site position located in Chantilly, VA

Responsibilities:

  • Lead algorithm development and signal processing from conception to software application
  • Take algorithm definitions and prototypes and convert them into software applications that run efficiently on large images and are ready for operational environments.
  • Mentor and transfer knowledge to junior team members
  • Collaborate across program and other vendors to integrate algorithms into existing software and hardware platforms.
  • Represent company and program in various working groups and meetings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with a CI Polygraph
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Signals Processing, Physics, or a related technology field. degree in (10 years of professional experience in lieu of degree)
  • Background in SAR and how to translate SAR technologies into working software
  • Software skills in an applicable language (C++, Python, MATLAB, Rust, or similar)
  • Familiarity working in multi-vendor environments and coordinating the integration of software into complex systems.
  • Experience working with government experts and tying algorithm development to requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with various radar modes: GMTI, ATR, or similar.
  • Experience working with U.S. Government satellite customers.
  • Strong personal networks in radar through previous work, academic research, or professional memberships.
