Job description

Western Union is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of its global Wallet & Account Platform. In this highly collaborative role, you will drive the development of scalable, API‑driven platform capabilities that support wallet, payments, and account‑based products across multiple markets. Working closely with engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders, you will shape core platform services that enable innovation, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer experiences at global scale.

Role Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the global Wallet & Account Platform strategy and roadmap.
  • Build scalable, API‑first platform capabilities supporting wallets, payments, cards, and account services.
  • Establish platform standards, integration patterns, and reusable components for global adoption.
  • Partner with engineering to design secure, reliable, and scalable services.
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert for wallet architecture, ledger systems, account structures, and balance management.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to support local regulatory, payment, and customer requirements.
  • Define integration strategies with banks, payment processors, card networks, and third‑party providers.
  • Drive end‑to‑end product delivery, including requirements, prioritization, launch, and ongoing optimization.
  • Monitor platform performance, adoption, and reliability metrics to guide product decisions.
  • Stay current on industry trends in digital wallets, embedded finance, real‑time payments, and banking platforms.
Role Requirements
  • 5–8 years of product management experience in fintech, payments, banking, or other technical platform environments.
  • Proven experience owning and scaling platform, API, or infrastructure products.
  • Strong understanding of wallet systems, ledgering, account models, and transaction processing.
  • Experience delivering API‑driven products and partnering closely with engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud‑based architectures.
  • Experience integrating with banking APIs, payment networks, card processors, and external vendors.
  • Understanding financial regulations, including KYC, AML, and transaction monitoring.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in global, cross‑functional, and fast‑paced environments.
  • Experience building or scaling digital wallet or core banking platforms.
  • Experience supporting multi‑region or multi‑tenant platforms.
  • Background enabling self‑service developer platforms and tools.
  • Familiarity with API documentation, SDKs, and developer experience best practices.

Work Shift

Salary

The annual base salary range is $130,000 to $170,000 USD per year. Total on‑target compensation includes a base salary and short‑term and long‑term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
