Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
  • 2 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • CPA candidates preferred
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

The Korean Services Group ("KSG") at CBIZ is a cross-functional, firmwide organization that provides audit, tax, valuation, and advisory services to U.S. subsidiaries of Korean global companies and Korean founder-owned businesses operating in the United States, in close collaboration with CBIZ's broader service teams. KSG delivers audit, tax, valuation, and consulting services, providing differentiated value to clients by facilitating effective communication and coordination among U.S. management, Korea-based parent companies, and group auditors in Korea. By integrating cultural, language, and cross-border business expertise into CBIZ's standard services, KSG enhances execution efficiency and delivers CBIZ's technical excellence and deep industry specialization

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Contains advanced technical knowledge of accounting standards and reporting standards in researching, completing and reviewing technical areas.
  • Provide tax compliance and advisory services to Korean corporations for a variety of clients from large global companies to emerging businesses
  • Calculate and/or audit the provision for income taxes under ASC 740
  • Performs a detailed review of team's workflow and monitors tasks to ensure they are assigned and completed on a timely basis
  • Manages multiple assignments inside an engagement
  • Communicates with Partner, Manager and/or Supervising Senior on work status and client issues that arise
  • Has advanced knowledge of applicable tax and accounting software (e.g. CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement, SurePrep, etc.)
  • Participates in planning and execution of client engagement in collaboration with the Manager and/or Partner on the job
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage staff including designing staffing structure of engagement
  • Leads small to medium sized assignments with finalized document and report requiring minimal change upon review
  • Trains, supervises and mentors lower-level staff
  • Takes a lead role in client and team meetings and contributes new ideas and strategic initiatives 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in accounting, Taxation or related field 
  • Bachelor's degree with a preferred field of study in accounting 
  • Fluent in both English and Korean; excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex information
  • Minimum 4 years of recent corporate tax experience
  • Strong tax compliance skills
  • Experience with corporate taxation and tax provisions 
  • CPA license or on track to obtain 
  • Software Experience - CCH Axcess Tax, Microsoft Office 365
