Job description

Stratagen is seeking Activity-Based Costing Financial Analysts to support a Department of the Interior contract. The ideal candidates will bring experience in activity-based costing, cost modeling and financial analysis, data analytics and visualization, federal financial and timekeeping systems, and business analytics. These roles offer the opportunity to work both collaboratively and independently while delivering mission-critical support and strategic financial insights.

Candidates may be considered at various levels based on their education, certifications, and demonstrated experience. All candidates must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated experience applying ABC methodologies, including the ability to map activities, identify cost drivers, and perform cost-allocation modeling.
  • Proven experience with CostPerform Software: Candidate must show hands-on experience with CostPerform, including configuration, report development, and scenario modeling.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing dashboards, automating reporting visualizing cost drivers and presenting ABC results in clear and actionable fashion.
  • Experience Navigating Federal Financial or Timekeeping Systems such as FBMS, PRISM, ConcurGov, Time & Attendance, etc.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in federal financial data extraction, validation, and reconciliation was required to ensure ABC models were built on compliant, accurate data.
  • Conduct research and gather relevant data to support cost modeling activities.
  • Design and manage cost models, ensuring accurate and efficient analysis.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer on data analysis theory and modeling techniques.
  • Perform business analytics, develop and apply alternative solutions, and ensure timely and accurate project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient workflows and deliver high-quality results.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or related quantitative field is required.
  • Advanced training or certifications such as CPA, CGFM, or CFE, are considered advantageous. Personnel need a minimum of 3–5 years conducting financial modeling, cost estimation, or cost-benefit analysis.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, including activity-based costing, cost modeling, cost estimation or cost-benefit analysis.
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Sterling, VA, or be willing to relocate prior to their start date.
  • Proficiency in CostPerform and specialty activity-based costing software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on customer service and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex problems creatively.
  • Candidates must be United States citizens.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Federal User Fee Programs.
  • Experience in streamling business processes and business process re-engineering to consolidate tasks of similar systems utilizing ABC.
  • Experience with CostPerform activity-based costing software.
  • Experience with Reporting tools: Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
  • Experience in the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Safey and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE).

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, certifications, and overall fit for the position.

Background Investigation Requirement:

Candidates selected for this position must be able to successfully complete and maintain a Department of the Interior background investigation. Contractor employees who require unsupervised access to Bureau facilities, Department of the Interior information technology systems, or DOI data must obtain a favorable adjudication. Existing investigations or clearances at the same or higher level may be accepted, subject to government review and approval.

Candidates may begin work upon receiving an Entrance on Duty (EOD) determination; however, continued employment is contingent upon successfully completing the required background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, an FBI criminal history check, and a credit review.
