ย  ย  Position Summary
RM Advisory Services is seeking up to FIVE experienced Payroll Specialists to support accurate, timely payroll processing for a large, complex workforce. The role will review time and pay data, resolve payroll issues, maintain compliant records, and partner with Human Capital and Finance stakeholders. Success requires strong payroll knowledge, excellent attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to meet firm processing deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
Review and validate timekeeping records, leave balances, overtime, payroll adjustments, and employee status changes.
Process retroactive pay, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, tax withholdings, direct deposits, and termination-related vacation payments.
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local requirements, company policies, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
Coordinate payroll actions with Human Capital and other business partners.
Maintain complete, secure, and confidential payroll records.
Prepare payroll reports and provide documentation in support of audits and management requests.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of relevant payroll processing or payroll analyst experience.
Working knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour requirements, deductions, garnishments, and payroll compliance.
Experience supporting payroll operations in a large, complex, public-sector, private-sector, financial services, real estate, or government environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
Five or more years of payroll experience.
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or an advanced degree.
Experience with Oracle payroll applications and Kronos timekeeping systems.
Experience supporting a large, unionized, public-sector, transit, or transportation organization.
Experience configuring or supporting Oracle Fusion HCM/Payroll, including complex payroll processes or migration from PeopleSoft.

Work Environment and Assignment Expectations
Follow the Client's hybrid schedule: onsite Monday through Thursday in Alexandria, VA, and remote on Friday, unless otherwise approved.
Maintain full-time availability throughout the assignment and obtain approval before working more than eight hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
Submit accurate weekly time records and detailed descriptions of work performed.
