Job Title: Scheduling & Staffing Coordinator
Job Summary
Ensures adequate staffing on each nursing unit and coordinates with Nurse Managers & Supervisors, communicates schedules to staff. Oversees tracking of private duty aides including ensuring proper badging. Coordinates schedules for and communications with part time nurse pool and per diem nurse pool. Books and places agency nurses as needed. Provides day-to-day maintenance, monitoring, scheduling & reporting using KRONOS system. Provides management with KRONOS reports as needed & uses reports to optimize efficiency of nurse staff model.
Essential Job Functions
โ€ข Prepares schedules for assigned units to meet daily staffing requirements based on patient care needs and census.
โ€ข Develops individual schedules in the time keeping system and ensures receipt by the employee.
โ€ข Prepares daily staffing projections for upcoming week to ensure adequate daily staffing for all shifts.
โ€ข Develops, modifies, and distributes individual schedules to employees while maintaining a record in time keeping system.
โ€ข Communicates problems with employee schedules to appropriate supervisor.
โ€ข Maintains time and attendance records for each employee.
โ€ข Updates time keeping system with employee transfers on a daily basis.
โ€ข Schedules resident internal and external appointments through the Ambulatory Health Center.
โ€ข Coordinates registering of private duty attendants in the facility.
โ€ข Performs clerical and support functions for the department.
โ€ข Attends in in-services and meetings as needed.
Job Requirements
Education:
โ€ข High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
โ€ข Minimum 2 years experience utilizing scheduling software in a healthcare/patient care environment
โ€ข Prior experience in a nursing home setting preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
โ€ข N/A
Abilities Required
โ€ข Advanced knowledge of KRONOS scheduling software, including reporting
โ€ข Competent in use of Microsoft Office application software - Word & Excel.
โ€ข Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
โ€ข Ability to maintain productivity with numerous interruptions.
โ€ข Demonstrates a caring attitude towards both internal and external customers.
โ€ข Knowledge of computerized Staffing practices.
