Job Summary

This position will be responsible for timely and accurate payroll processing and support of personnel for assigned pay groups. Assists in the implementation of processes and procedures to minimize payroll processing errors. This is a hybrid position meaning the employee must reside near the established La‑Z‑Boy location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)
  • Process payroll for Retail, Factory, Administration and Executives pay groups as assigned on a weekly, bi-weekly and/or monthly pay cycle using Workday and Kronos systems, including entering payroll changes and adjustments as needed for an accurate payroll
  • Process special compensation such as bonuses, stock options, PCRP, dividends, etc.
  • Provides support to assigned pay groups as it relates to questions regarding amounts paid to employees
  • Entry of Incentive Pay (IP) timecards, in addition to performing close review for accuracy, reasonableness and consistency for Factory Pay, if applicable
  • Understand and process creditor garnishments, child support and other withholding orders and off cycle payments
  • Balance wage payments and taxes
  • May be responsible for incoming and outgoing interfaces and files, including but not limited to UKG, Workday, Wells Fargo and ADP
  • Able to gather and analyze information and data to problem solve
  • Organized with excellent time management skills to produce quality work
  • Follow documented procedures and deliver quality work
  • Maintains detailed and accurate records at all times with a high level of security and confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Communicates in a shared inbox as well as through Workday case management; ensuring communication and resolution is completed timely
SCOPE & IMPACT

Part of a team responsible for providing accurate payrolls for 8000+ employees with multiple tax jurisdictions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma with 0 – 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Access
  • Work independently with the ability to provide status of tasks on a regular basis and recognize unusual situations/requests before proceeding
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent time management with attention to detail
  • Ability to work under precise deadlines and with flexibility
  • A team player but able to work independently
  • Self-motivated to ask questions and learn new processes
  • Travel Required: None
PREFERED REQUIREMENTS
  • Associates degree
  • Experience with Workday and UKG systems
  • Previous experience in a professional office or payroll setting
