Summary:
The Application Specialist - Lab Team supports the North American sales organization by providing technical application expertise for laboratory-based instrumentation. This role is responsible for conducting sample analysis in the Westborough MA laboratory, supporting customer applications both remotely and on-site, and partnering closely with the sales team to drive successful customer outcomes.
The position plays a key role in demonstrating product capabilities, supporting method development, and delivering high-quality technical insights to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide application and technical support to the North American sales team
  • Assist with technical objection handling and competitive product positioning
  • Conduct laboratory sample analysis and generate detailed application reports with findings and recommendations
  • Support customers with method verification, validation, and transfer processes as appropriate
  • Maintain and manage demo lab equipment at the Westborough, MA headquarters
  • Deliver remote and on-site application support for AMS, Chopin, and Unity Scientific product lines
  • Travel to customer sites for demonstrations, training, and project support
  • Collaborate with service teams to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues
  • Capture and maintain application activities and customer interactions in Salesforce CRM
  • Gather customer feedback and application insights to support product development and improvements
  • Develop and maintain calibrations as needed
  • Assist in training new employees and internal stakeholders
  • Perform additional duties as required

Experience:
  • Previous experience in an applications support role within the scientific instrumentation or food industry
  • Hands-on experience with analytical/laboratory instrumentation preferred
  • Experience supporting customer-facing technical engagements

Language Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to clearly present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Food Science, or a related field required
  • Advanced degree preferred
