About Seattle New Life Fellowship:

Seattle New Life Fellowship began in the early 1990s as a ministry of a first-generation Korean church, Community Church of Seattle. In 2023, the congregation officially became an independent church, transitioning from our longtime home in Bothell, WA, to our current location in Kirkland.

Today, Seattle New Life Fellowship is a predominantly Asian American congregation of 600–700 people with deep roots in the immigrant church and a heart for reaching our diverse surrounding communities. We are composed of people in a wide range of life stages, from newborns to empty nesters.

While we remain an independent church, we are currently exploring affiliation with a denomination. We are evangelical in conviction, egalitarian in leadership, believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, and are deeply committed to sharing the gospel with our neighbors.

Our mission is to become a Christ-centered community that expands the Kingdom of God by making disciples. We pursue this through faithful participation in Sunday worship, Community Groups, local and global missions, and a strong commitment to mobilizing the next generation to love and follow Jesus.

Position Description:

Seattle New Life Fellowship is seeking an Associate Pastor who will help shepherd the congregation through pastoral care, teaching, leadership development, and missions engagement. The Associate Pastor will help create and support ministry pathways that invite our church community to grow as disciples of Jesus and participate in God’s mission locally and globally.

This role requires someone who can lead with humility and excellence, build healthy teams, care for people across different life stages, and align ministry efforts with Seattle New Life Fellowship’s vision and values.

  • Missions Leadership, Teaching and Engagement (70%)
    • Cast vision and provide leadership for the Missions Ministry, aligning with New Life’s mission to make disciples.
    • Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships with local ministries and global missionaries.
    • Travel to visit and support missionaries, strengthening relationships and creating new missional engagement opportunities for the congregation.
    • Develop and lead pathways for local, regional, and global outreach.
    • Lead and oversee short-term mission leaders and mission trips.
    • Integrate missions into the life of the church through weekend services, testimonies, and special events.
    • Create and lead Alpha teams twice per year, hosted at the church or throughout the Seattle area, as an entry point for evangelism and discipleship.
    • Oversee the Experience Team, teach classes as needed, and participate in Adult Life Ministry.
    • Preach, teach, preside, and share ministry updates as needed.
  • Team Leadership & Volunteer Development (25%)
    • Multiply volunteer teams and develop core leadership within the ministry.
    • Recruit, train, and develop leaders for outreach, Alpha, and other mission initiatives.
    • Shepherd team members through pastoral care and encouragement.
    • Foster a culture of evangelism, discipleship, and servant leadership.
    • Equip the church to confidently share their faith and engage in mission.
  • Administration & Development (15%)
    • Manage the ministry budget and oversee the allocation of resources.
    • Provide oversight and communication for all missions initiatives and partnerships.
    • Invest relationally in volunteers (approximately four times per week) and host appreciation and vision gatherings.
    • Participate in and help lead tactical planning and spiritual development meetings.
    • Pursue ongoing professional development through conferences, training, and coaching.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
