Job Description
  • The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Identify sources for product/services in support of customer requests in a timely manner. Ensure proper product selections, matches, and/or alternatives.
  • Make purchasing decisions based on customer need, market and competitor conditions, product specifications, supplier strategy, regulations, and business policy.
  • Negotiate cost, terms and conditions with suppliers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by proactively contacting customer to resolve issues and to improve opportunity success rate.
  • Maintain and report purchasing results and productivity measurements including number of quotes completed per day, cycle time, average mark up and buy/quote ratio.
  • Communicate performance expectations and provide qualitative feedback regarding performance of suppliers.
  • Support gross profit goals by negotiating and controlling product costs, lead times, freight terms and purchase quantity requirements.
  • Maintain existing supplier relationships and initiate potential new supplier relationships.
  • Communicate with HQ abroad (Korea) regarding imported items
  • Support team members on product and source inquiries
