Job description

Komyo America has an opportunity to join our organization in the role of Associate Relations Specialist of our distribution facility in Troy, OH. Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Human Resources, this position will provide a mid-level of Human Resources services to our Troy facility. The ideal candidate will be capable of creating and fostering strong work relationships within and without the organization and a positive work environment.

Job Summary

Performs diversified human resources and administrative functions in Employment, Performance Management, and Employee Relations matters.

Essential Job Functions

· Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

· Improves supervisor and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling supervisors and employees.

· Responds to employee concerns, complaints and issues, conducts investigations, and refers complex and high-risk issues to the Human Resources Assistant Manager

· Works with employees and supervisors to resolve conflicts and provide education and assistance relative to Human Resources issues.

· Reviews completed performance appraisals for conformance to related policies and procedures.

· Assists supervisors with disciplinary documentation, reviews termination recommendations with Human Resources Assistant Manager and conducts exit interviews.

· Identifies and addresses training needs and resources. Helps develop training programs in the areas of safety, communication, counseling, performance management, supervision skills and leadership.

· Facilitates monthly leadership training and annual employee training.

· Responsible for recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees.

· Conducts interviews and supports supervisory staff with internal promotion process.

· Conducts employee orientation and assists employees in the completion of their employment forms.

· Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvement in efficiency of the department and services performed to Human Resources Assistant Manager.

· Responds to inquiries from employees on company policies and procedures.

· Coordinates enrollment of eligible employees in company benefits such as Medical, Dental, Life and 401(k).

· Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

· Completes special projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information.

· Handles details of a confidential nature, including personnel, payroll, and company financial information.

· Responsible for establishing, ensuring confidentiality, and maintaining official documents and records in appropriate files.

· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

· Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience.

Experience:

· +3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a Warehouse/Distribution environment.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Results oriented.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong background in Employee Relations and Performance Management.

· Strong background conducting Investigations.

· Solid working knowledge of HR policies and procedures

· Strong knowledge of federal and state employment and labor law.

· Strong interpersonal, team building, leadership, and communication skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

· Must be able to exercise discretion.

· Training experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

May involve significant standing, walking, and sitting. Position requires ability to frequently use hands for reaching and handling and frequently for fine finger manipulation. Frequent talking, hearing and visual acuity to see objects required.
