Job description


The Regional Brand Manager (RBM) is an integral member of the Sleep marketing team, supporting the continued growth of the brand. The RBM role is field based, with high expectations for customer engagement, strategic execution, leadership, collaboration, and insights gathering. The RBM role will partner across the Commercial Team to execute the brand strategy, positioning Alkermes as THE leader in rare sleep medicine.
Responsibilities
KOL Engagement:
  • Build strong KOL relationships and trust to inform marketing strategy and initiatives
  • Develop regional KOL strategies by identifying, profiling, and engaging established and rising thought leaders in the rare sleep therapeutic area
  • Lead regional and national congress execution by organizing executive leadership engagement at key conferences, determining resource allocation, and deliberately engaging KOL/faculty

Insights Gathering:
  • Bring insights from thought leaders and sales teams to the brand team to inform strategy, resource utilization, messaging, and tactical execution
  • Identify marketplace trends, including barriers, to guide brand strategy and future opportunities
  • Help implement advisory boards, including planning, participant identification, and moderation
  • Collect KOL beliefs, develop HCP profiles, and gain competitive insights at regional and national congresses

Speaker Bureau Leadership:
  • Help identify, recruit, and manage speakers for the LUMRYZ speaker's bureau
  • Provide guidance to speakers to ensure accurate, effective and compliant product and/or disease-state presentations
  • Coach speakers as needed regarding content and communication skills through direct observation and feedback

Product Brand Champion:
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration and drive brand across a matrixed commercial team to ensure strategic alignment and execution
  • Regularly engage with territory business managers to ensure strategic alignment and gain insights from resource utilization/messaging in field by joining conference calls, attending sales meetings, and, occasionally, conducting field rides

Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of professional pharma/medical device experience
  • Driver's license must be in good standing
  • Must be able to demonstrate or secure appropriate credentialing, as may be required by healthcare providers for physical access to their facilities

Preferred Skill and Knowledge Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of pharma experience, including rare disease experience
  • 3+ years of experience in product marketing and/or sales management
  • Ability to analyze data sets and think strategically to develop regional plans
  • Strong interpersonal and EQ skills for interactions with KOLs, speakers, and/or advisors in regional engagements and in group settings
  • Effective peer leadership history and desire to collaborate across multiple functions (sales, sales training, compliance, medical affairs, market insights, market access)
  • Ability to lead without authority across multiple functions within the commercial organization
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Deep knowledge regarding the legal and regulatory environment regarding pharmaceutical promotion, industry guidelines, and experience partnering with compliance
  • Track record of high performance

Travel & Other Requirements:
  • This marketing position is field-based with variable working times depending upon brand and customer availability/needs requiring 60%-70% travel (including nights and weekends) on a consistent basis
  • An appropriate candidate must reside within the position's territory geography

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $200k to $220k. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual performance pay bonus.
