The Opportunity
Momentum is continually evaluating opportunities to invest in, acquire, and grow businesses that strengthen our portfolio. As our MBA Summer Associate, Capital & Ventures, you'll work alongside senior leadership to evaluate new investment opportunities, support strategic transactions, and help drive value creation across our portfolio. This is an MBA internship taking place in summer 2027.
This isn't a traditional internship or a support role. You'll contribute to market and competitive analyses, assess acquisition opportunities, develop investment recommendations, and support strategic initiatives that influence how Momentum grows. From researching emerging markets to helping evaluate potential investments, you'll gain exposure to the strategic and financial decisions that shape our business.
You'll leave the summer with meaningful ownership, exposure to executive leadership, and tangible accomplishments that extend well beyond a typical internship experience.
What You'll Do
Projects will be defined and scoped collaboratively but may include:
  • Conducting industry, market, and competitive research to identify investment opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Building and maintaining market intelligence, deal pipeline trackers, and investment research to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assisting in the development of business cases, investment memoranda, and executive presentations.
  • Analyzing financial and operational data to identify growth opportunities and investment risks.
  • Supporting due diligence efforts by coordinating research, organizing documentation, and synthesizing findings for senior leadership.
  • Identifying inefficiencies in deal sourcing, diligence, and reporting processes, and driving improvements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams across Finance, Strategy & Operations, and Portfolio Companies to evaluate strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
  • Is currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program (graduating between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028)
  • Enjoys evaluating businesses, markets, and investment opportunities using both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Is intellectually curious and comfortable solving ambiguous business problems with structured thinking.
  • Can synthesize complex information into clear, executive-ready presentations and recommendations.
  • Thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys working across multiple teams.
  • Has a GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Is based in or willing to relocate to Dallas for the summer (full-time, five days per week on-site).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Has approximately 2-4 years of full time experience in management consulting, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, strategic finance, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, or commercial due diligence.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling and business case development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to streamline manual processes.
  • Familiarity with valuation methodologies, financial statement analysis, and M&A transaction processes.
