Job description

KO Door is continuing to grow and expand into different markets around the country and as such is looking to add key players to our Estimating and Preconstruction Team as a Preconstruction Engineer / Estimator

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, related field, or equivalent experience OR 3+ years related experience in the construction industry
  • Preliminary knowledge of commercial and multi-family construction projects
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, and MS suite

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Assist in leading or helping preconstruction efforts for project values up to $5 million
  • Support other preconstruction team members on assigned projects inclusive of preparing estimates, quantity takeoffs, clarifications, and other project related tasks
  • Solicit and compare pricing from all KO vendors
  • Maintain local and national historical estimating data and develop cost trends
  • Perform value engineering
  • Input and evaluate costs during the bid analysis process
  • Responsible for providing the client with accurate estimates and value engineering
  • Manage project hand-off process in a manner that ensures the success of the project
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and prioritize accordingly
  • Demonstrate ability for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Team-oriented mentality and desire to collaborate across departments
