We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $100-$135k. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all production related activities and personnel for the Viant, Chicopee site across all shifts 24/7 as well as other site leader roles as assigned. The Operations Manager is a member of the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) and will have 4 Supervisor direct reports along with around 70 indirect production Associates.  The Operations Manager is directly responsible for driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People throughout the organization utilizing strong leadership skills and continuous improvement techniques.  

Responsibilities:

Oversee 24/7 manufacturing processes and personnel to ensure a safe and compliant work environment
Achieve production-related business KPIs to include on-time delivery, quality and cost performance objectives.  Create a culture that strives for perfect fill-rates and zero defects
Provide servant leadership and effectively engage company Associates to minimize turnover and maintain a positive work environment 
Maintain the measurement of machine utilization and efficiency for product throughput and effectively manage to achieve cost goals.  Implement process improvements to reduce redundancy and cost.
Monitor labor constrains take appropriate actions to achieve schedule attainment
Identify, troubleshoot and utilize root cause analysis and OPEX tools to solve issues and non-conformances to products and processes while creating a culture of continuous improvement
Recommend and execute personnel actions including hiring, promotions, performance reviews, and disciplinary measures
Create and maintain a safety culture by leading EHS initiatives supporting the EHS committee and the JHA process. Observe for potential safety observations
Collaborate and communicate with Master Scheduler for production schedules & raw material requirements
Work diligently with Quality, Materials, and Engineering departments to develop mechanisms that will improve quality, standardize processes and reduce costs
Lead new product teams and build plans to ensure a smooth transition from concept to full product launch 
Support materials/warehouse and technical support management activities 
Serve as a resource and mentor to other members of the team, with a responsibility to develop people and facilitate ongoing training
Demonstrate and promote the Viant values Collaborate with other team members to provide sound recommendations
Comply with all work rules including those pertaining to safety, health, and Quality Management System. 

Qualifications:

The Operations Manager will have a minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience demonstrated in a world-class manufacturing environment, preferably medical products
Knowledge of machining, plastics processing and fabrication, and product assembly.
Working knowledge of capacity planning and logistics management.
Demonstrated ability to manage traditional manufacturing personalities and styles; ability to synergize the benefits of experience and the concepts of new technology, approaches and new processes.
Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
Ability to interface with customers, problem solve and drive solutions to meet customer requirements.
Knowledge of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 13485, regulatory issues required.
BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred
Hands on leader with demonstrated experience at successful high performance team building
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt and or/a history of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, etc.
P&L knowledge and understanding of value drivers. Has developed and executed operating plans
Presence and initiative to drive sales
Strong communicator: written and verbal (one-on-one and group)
Strategic thinker: responsible for developing the plan; ability to conceptualize coherent view of facility in the future (6 months, one year, two years, five years)
Rational thinker: good business judgment
