Chemours is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our growingteam! This position will report directly to the Operations Manager at our New Johnsonville, TN location. This is a highly visible role that serves as the primary interface between Production and Maintenance, ensuring maintenance activities are safely planned, properly scoped, prioritized, and executed in alignment with business needs.
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance work execution, aligning schedules and resources, and ensuring equipment availability while upholding safety, quality, reliability, and compliance standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to influence across work groups to achieve reliable outcomes. The position may include direct supervisory responsibility.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership by ensuring all maintenance activities comply with site safety policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Ensure maintenance planning and execution adhere to applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Management of Change (MOC), and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, as applicable.
  • Participate in and support hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Assess the robustness and capability of processes and collaborate with stakeholders to halt, adjust, or modify production when safety or quality risks are identified.
  • Lead and manage the Area Equipment Integrity Committee, including meetings, documentation, and recommendations for preventive maintenance and equipment reliability improvements.
  • Convert maintenance notifications into executable work orders and coach stakeholders on work notification quality and expectations.
  • Align production priorities and equipment availability with the Production Leader to establish appropriate work order priorities.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance First Line Supervisors, Planners, and Contract Administration to define work scope and determine internal or external resourcing.
  • Communicate planned and active maintenance activities to the Production organization to ensure proper equipment preparation and coordination.
  • Validate completion and quality of maintenance and engineering activities prior to returning equipment to service.
  • Review work orders and ensure authorization of additional costs as required for TECO work orders.
  • Create follow-up notifications for newly identified scopes of work and coordinate review with the Production Leader.
  • Coordinate and execute area shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities.
  • Manage and maintain the area maintenance work order backlog.
  • Facilitate daily maintenance planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment with weekly execution plans and communicate deviations to Production leadership.
  • Align on schedule breaks with Production Supervisors and communicate impacts to work that must be deferred outside the weekly schedule.
  • Manage area spare parts and provide input to the Spares/PMMA Leader for critical spares identification and lifecycle management.
  • Remove and manage field tags following completion and verification of maintenance work.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness within SAP for work execution, history, and reporting.
  • Willingness to work abnormal or extended hours and respond to short-notice operational needs as required.
  • Ability to manage high volumes of information while maintaining organization, accuracy, and execution focus.
  • Operates with minimal supervision and demonstrates strong accountability for results.

The following is required for this role:
  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent
  • Proficiency in SAP transactions related to work management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple complex, time-sensitive work activities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Working knowledge of standard maintenance procedures, equipment, and materials used in an industrial manufacturing environment.

The following is preferred for this role:
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
  • Prior Management or supervisory experience
  • Strong understanding of Work Management Processes (WMP)
  • Experience supporting PSM-regulated processes or chemical manufacturing operations.
