Job Description

In this role you will lead an inbound and outbound operation at a FleetPride Distribution Center. You will be responsible for leading, developing and engaging a team of frontline supervisors. Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse workers. Operations Managers are problem solvers able to interpret data and deliver meaningful results that drive productivity and efficiency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Lead and develop team of front line supervisors and hourly associates

  • Maintain compliance and consistency and taking corrective action when needed

  • Mentoring, training and developing teammates for career progression, performance improvement and recognition

  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives

  • Build and deliver productivity plans by reviewing forecasts, determine productivity requirements and partner with other Ops Mgr in the supply chain network

  • Evaluate performance objective and metrics to determine inbound and outbound productivity requirements.

  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion, in order to ensure that it has been performed effectively.

  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels, to ensure that activities are performed effectively, and to respond to fluctuating workloads.

  • Provide direction and assistance in the solution of problems with employees.

  • Communicate with employees and management on a regular basis to insure procedures are followed, new procedures and methods are considered and new approved methods or procedures are known and carried out on a timely basis.

  • Appraise and document employee performance at regular intervals as required by company procedures, insuring a plan for improving employee performance and potential.

  • Recommend pay increase based upon performance. Receive approval from DC Director before discussing with employee.

  • Enforce company policies and procedures, abide by same.

  • Counsel employees in work -related activities personal growth and career development.

  • Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded, and problems encountered.

  • Ensure all stock is pulled and loaded into the delivery vehicle with accompanying and necessary documents, in conjunction with delivery schedules maintaining a 99% accuracy rate.

  • Assist warehouse personnel with everyday functions when necessary.

  • Prepare reports for the Sr. DC Manager..

  • Ensure that all warehouse equipment is in working condition.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Bachelors degree in business or equivalent is preferred

  • Intermediate to advanced user knowledge of Microsoft, including database, spreadsheet, good working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (JDA, Manhattan, etc)

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution environment; including a minimum of 2 yrs in a supervisory position

  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills are required

  • Lead projects and help your team achieve goals. You have a track record of taking ownership and driving results

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Moderate physical effort and use or motor skills requiring manual dexterity. On occasion lift, lower, carry product up to a max of 10 pounds by hand.
