Pamarco is the Global Leader of anilox roll manufacturing and is the leading provider of superior and proven technology solutions for the printing, packaging, and converting industries worldwide.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Operations Manager to oversee and manage daily manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, mechanical manufacturing, CNC machining, and fabrication, with the ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
This position requires a hands-on leader with the technical knowledge and experience to understand the manufacturing process from raw material through finished cylinder, while also supporting production planning, quoting, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Manage daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives are achieved.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to production employees and supervisors.
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC machining, lathes, grinding, welding, and mechanical manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Experience manufacturing and fabricating industrial cylinders and related components.
  • Ability to determine the appropriate raw materials and components required to meet blueprint and customer specifications.
  • Understand machining and manufacturing processes well enough to estimate production run times for each operation.
  • Ability to use production-time estimates to support accurate quoting of new cylinder projects.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and cost.
  • Work closely Sales, Customer Service, and manufacturing to ensure production requirements are clearly understood and achieved.
  • Ensure employees follow established SOPs, safety procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.
  • Monitor production performance and adjust staffing, scheduling, and processes as necessary.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and safety.
  • Serve as a key member of the plant leadership team, providing direction and empowering the organization to achieve operational, quality, safety, and financial objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage the production schedule to achieve on-time delivery (OTD) commitments.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on prevention, waste reduction, improved efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Develop and communicate a total quality vision and build organizational commitment to consistently meeting or exceeding customer and company requirements.
  • Analyze and monitor manufacturing processes, product quality, production costs, and operational performance against established budgets and forecasts. Identify problems, implement corrective actions, and develop long-term solutions to achieve operational objectives.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing operations team focused on quality, efficiency, productivity, and cost control through effective hiring, training, communication, coaching, and performance management.
  • Develop, communicate, and maintain manufacturing specifications and process standards, ensuring strict adherence throughout the plant.
  • Lead changes and improvements across manufacturing, process engineering, and quality assurance to increase efficiency, improve product quality, reduce costs, and maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to ensure customer inquiries regarding product performance, specifications, and tolerances are addressed accurately and promptly.
  • Oversee the evaluation, implementation, and closure of Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and monitor their long-term effectiveness to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage the disposition of non-conforming materials throughout all stages of manufacturing, ensuring appropriate documentation and corrective action.
  • Promote open communication and employee engagement, encouraging employees to provide suggestions and identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, safety, efficiency, and communication.
  • Ensure production employees and supervisors are held accountable for following established SOPs, quality standards, safety procedures, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Monitor key production metrics and implement timely adjustments to staffing, scheduling, equipment utilization, and manufacturing processes to achieve plant objectives.
