Job description

Reeder Distributors is seeking an experienced Operations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing daily operational activities across multiple departments, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable execution of business objectives. This position provides leadership and direction to department managers and operational teams, including fuel distribution, lubricant delivery, dispatch, tank operations, field service, and support functions.This role is responsible for driving operational excellence through effective leadership, process improvement, performance management, KPI analysis, safety compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. The Operations Manager serves as a key leader responsible for improving workflows, developing employees, and ensuring operational goals align with company objectives.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide daily leadership and communication across fuel distribution, lubricant delivery, dispatch, tank building, tank service, field operations, and support teams to ensure operational efficiency and alignment. Lead, coach, and develop a workforce of approximately 60 employees, including department managers, drivers, dispatchers, technicians, tank builders, and support personnel. Establish clear expectations, accountability standards, and performance objectives for operational teams. Monitor, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, productivity, customer satisfaction, customer retention, inventory utilization, operational efficiency, and overall department performance. Develop, implement, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to create consistent processes across all operational areas. Identify operational challenges, analyze trends, and implement solutions that improve safety, efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. Oversee compliance with DOT, OSHA, environmental regulations, Chevron Quality Standards, and company safety policies and procedures. Partner with Safety leadership to promote a strong safety culture, reduce risk, and ensure compliance across all departments. Lead daily operational meetings, cross-department communication initiatives, and weekly management updates to improve visibility, accountability, and collaboration. Manage workforce planning needs, including staffing levels, employee development, performance management, and succession planning. Conduct employee coaching conversations, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and leadership development initiatives. Evaluate current workflows and lead continuous improvement projects focused on routing efficiency, cost reduction, productivity improvements, and service quality. Collaborate with executive leadership regarding budgeting, operational planning, P&L review, strategic initiatives, policy development, and long-term business growth. Support customer relationships by ensuring operational teams consistently deliver reliable, high-quality service. Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs. Required QualificationsPrevious leadership experience overseeing operations teams in fuel distribution, transportation, logistics, field service, industrial services, or related industries. Experience managing supervisors, managers, and cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of operational KPIs, reporting, and performance management. Experience developing and implementing SOPs, processes, and operational improvements. Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, environmental, and workplace safety requirements. Ability to analyze operational data and implement corrective action plans. Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. Preferred QualificationsExperience overseeing fuel, lubricant, transportation, or petroleum-related operations.
