Job description

College of Nursing:
A leader in nursing education for more than 40 years, UCF College of Nursing is doing MORE to ensure a healthier future for all. With a new, permanent home at UCF's Academic Health Sciences Center, we will have more space to prepare more Knight nurses with academic excellence and more opportunity to impact more lives with innovative, interdisciplinary research.
The Opportunity:
The Student Resource Specialist III will report to the KNACS Student Resources Manager and will assist with the delivery and coordination of comprehensive student-success services offered through the Knight Nurse Academic Center for Success (KNACS) at the College of Nursing.
The Student Resource Specialist III is a part-time position that will identify and help resolve obstacles impeding the success of students by assessing issues and concerns and providing appropriate referrals. The position will primarily support Second Degree BSN students while also assisting other pre-licensure BSN students as assigned.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides academic coaching sessions for students experiencing academic difficulty, transitioning into the nursing program, or seeking to strengthen their learning practices.
  • Assists with the planning and facilitation of workshops and student-success programming.
  • Supports student referrals and follow-up; promotes engagement with KNACS resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation and services provided.
  • Collects and organizes relevant student-service and academic information to support the manager's assessment of program effectiveness and identification of opportunities for improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 1+ year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in education, higher education, student affairs, counseling, health sciences, nursing, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in higher education, academic coaching, advising, student success, or program coordination.
  • Experience supporting academically at-risk students.
  • Experience developing and facilitating workshops, academic success programs, or student-engagement initiatives.
  • Experience tracking, analyzing, and reporting student participation, course performance, academic outcomes, or grant-related measures.
  • Familiarity with pre-licensure nursing education and the academic demands experienced by BSN students.

  • The anticipated hourly rate for a well-qualified candidate is between $20.29-$24.00. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
