Title: Material Handler
Location: Pompano Beach, FL
Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $16.00/hour

THE POSITION: Material Handler
The Material Handler will manage loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks within the storage facility. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Their duties and responsibilities often include:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs inventory control: cycle counts, material stocking, and scrapping, at a minimum.
  • Assists in managing material expiry, allocation, kitting, and maintain material condition requirements.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Inspect received materials.
  • Sort and place materials.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Record amounts of material or items received and distributed.
  • Maintains timing according to the production schedule to ensure on-time logistics.
  • Records material handling data and information in a clear, concise, format according to proper SOPs.
  • Works in a team based, cross-functional environment to complete kitting and delivery tasks required by shift schedule.
  • Inventory -Assist with month end inventory count, prepare warehouse for inventory - clean/sort/get all parts in proper location, make sure parts are labeled properly for the month end cycle count, Place orders for parts as directed by manager, follow up on all orders until received.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Able to read and understand English.
  • One year (or more) shipping, receiving and warehouse experience. Factory-specific experience a plus.
  • Forklift Certified preferred.
  • Must be able to bend and lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel, and have workable knowledge of WMS systems and associated business processes.
  • Work closely with warehouse Manager troubleshooting and solving receiving and inventory problems.
  • The employee must have a concern for safety and the desire to follow safety procedures and wear required safety equipment. Remember Safety First
