KITCHEN SUPERVISOR

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle | Marin Restaurant (Newly Renovated!)

Downtown Seattle - 1101 4th Ave. (4th & Spring)

Pay for this role is $30.00/hour + Benefits!

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

We’re thrilled to introduce Marin, our newly renovated and re-concepted restaurant that’s redefining the dining experience in Seattle. With a fresh name and a brand-new vision, Marin captures the essence of Seattle s unique environment where land meets sea. Our menu celebrates the flavors of the Pacific Northwest, with techniques and influences drawn from global seaside traditions, creating an experience that is both well-traveled and authentically local.

We’re looking for passionate, creative individuals to help bring Marin to life. If you’re ready to be part of something fresh and dynamic, and help us deliver an extraordinary guest experience, we’d love to have you on our team!

POSITION SUMMARY

At Marin, we believe every plate is a chance to create a ridiculously personal experience for our guests — and it takes a sharp, steady hand in the kitchen to make that happen, shift after shift, whether it's a busy dinner service or a full banquet floor. As Kitchen Supervisor, you'll be the one keeping the line humming, the standards high, and the team motivated, all while championing consistent, high-quality food for both à la carte service and larger banquet and catered events. You'll partner closely with F&B Management on everything from menu pricing to cost controls, acting as an advocate for both the kitchen team and the guest experience.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Banquet & Event Support

  • Plan and execute food production for banquets, private events, and large group functions, keeping quality and presentation consistent even at volume.
  • Coordinate timing between banquet events and regular restaurant service so both run smoothly side by side.
  • Partner with the F&B Management on banquet menus, portioning, and plating standards for group functions.
  • Lead and direct kitchen staff during banquet events, keeping the team organized and on schedule for multi-course or large-scale service.

Culinary Leadership & Food Quality

  • Manage food preparation and cooking to make sure every dish leaves the kitchen consistent, well-plated, and at the right temperature.
  • Establish and uphold standard portion sizes across the menu.
  • Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques, helping the team grow their skills along the way.
  • Bring your expertise in food product, presentation, and menu concept to help keep Marin's offerings fresh and on-brand.

Kitchen Operations & Safety

  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders to keep service running smoothly.
  • Provide input on kitchen staff scheduling as needed to make sure the team is set up for success.
  • Store food products in compliance with food safety practices.
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards throughout the kitchen area.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Expertise in food product, presentation, quality, and preparation, along with menu concept and design.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to keep food production running at a high level.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision to complete assigned tasks.
  • A highly motivated, flexible mindset with the initiative to jump in where needed.
  • Solid knowledge of kitchen health and safety rules.
  • A flexible schedule — you're available to work mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Food Handler Certification, if applicable in your jurisdiction.

Be the Ultimate Host

At Kimpton, you’ll be empowered to act. To be creative. To read the room, anticipate what a guest needs after they ask, and do what you truly believe is right — without waiting for permission. We hire people we trust, and then we trust the people we hire.

Spark Joy

Beyond great service lives something more lasting: emotional impact. Spark Joy is about the moments guests carry with them long after checkout — the ones that make Kimpton feel different from anywhere else. You’ll have the power to create those moments every single day.
