Experienced commercial kitchen mechanic responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial food service equipment. Skilled in servicing cooking, refrigeration, and dishwashing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant operation. Adept at diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and gas-related issues,performing preventive maintenance , and minimizing equipment downtime in fast-paced commercial kitchen environments. Standard Work: Commercial Kitchen Mechanic
  • Diagnose, repair, and test commercial kitchen equipment
  • Perform routine inspections to prevent equipment failure and extend lifespans
  • Install new electrical and gas-powered kitchen equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local codes
  • Comply with gas , electrical, plumbing, fire, and health codes.
  • Fix issues related to plumbing, electrical components, motors, thermostats, and gas lines.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after service
  • Maintain records of repairs and manage spare parts inventory
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, provide timelines, and ensure minimal operational downtime

Competencies & Skills
Essential:
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration, electricity, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy equipment, and work in high-temperature environments
  • Ability to read blue prints and schematics
