Job Overview

We're looking for a motivated and efficient Food Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This role involves preparing a variety of savory dishes, assisting in food preparation, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring all ingredients are ready for service. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities
  • Work efficiently with teammates in a professional manner to ensure smooth operations in the kitchen.
  • Maintain an organized approach while working quickly and effectively in a busy kitchen.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, equipment, and customer seating areas, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Lift and restock supplies, and assist with unloading weekly deliveries to ensure the kitchen is always well-stocked.
  • Follow recipes accurately, ensuring each step is completed to perfection for consistent food quality.
  • Read and interpret order slips, preparing savory dishes as directed with attention to detail.
  • Safely demonstrate and use kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, and other necessary tools for food preparation.
  • Perform light dishwashing duties and clean up your work area after preparing food.
  • Wrap, label, and date food items, adhering to FIFO (First In, First Out) food rotation practices to ensure freshness.
  • Be a helpful and positive coworker, supporting team members and contributing to an overall positive work environment.
  • Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen experience or food prep experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain organized in a fast-paced kitchen.
