Salary:

Position Summary:

The Showroom Cabinet Designer is responsible for guiding homeowners, contractors, and designers through the cabinet selections and design process. This role combines creativity, product knowledge, and customer service to develop functional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen and bath cabinetry solutions.

The designer creates detailed layouts using design software, prepares accurate quotes, and supports clients from initial consultation through order completion. This position works closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless customer experience and contributes to overall showroom success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design custom cabinetry layouts for kitchens, bathrooms, style preferences, functionality and budget.
  • Consult with customers to understand project needs, style preferences, functionality and budget.
  • Recommend cabinetry solutions, finishes and configurations that align with customer goals.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotes and design presentations within established timeframes.
  • Revise designs based on customer feedback and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure design feasibility and order accuracy.
  • Maintain organized project files, including plans, specifications, and customer communications.
  • Provide product knowledge and design expertise to support showroom sales efforts.
  • Assist with showroom appointments and walk-in customers as needed.
  • Stay current on cabinetry trends, product updates, and design best practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom environment.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Training or certification in kitchen or bath design (e.g., NKBA, 2020 Design) is a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in cabinet design, kitchen & bath design, or showroom design required.
  • Experience using 2020 Design or similar design software required.

  • Experience working with contractors, designers, and homeowners in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

  • Frequently walking, bending, reaching and stooping, including accessing product displays, sample materials and filing areas.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 25 pounds, such as product samples, binders or display components.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, and climbing stairs/ladders.
  • Ability to perform tasks requires close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus for driving, computer use, and product or site review.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced showroom environment while maintaining attentions to detail and customer focus.
  • Ability to work full-time, including occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate scheduled appointments or showroom needs.

Work Environment:
