Job description

I. Summary
The Kit Room Assembler is responsible for the assembly of all fuel system accessories including sending units, wire harnesses, and complete kits.
II. Typical Job Functions
Typical functions may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, abilities, and other characteristics. The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
  • Reads and understands the BOM and print drawings for proper completions of kits, sending units, wire harnesses, and hose cutting.
  • Logs into MOM software for time tracking (setup, run, breaks, rework, Q.C., training, etc.) and job quantity recording.
  • Packs by hand a wide variety of products and materials (boxes, hose, wire, washers, rivets, crimp connectors, etc.).
  • Works with the Warehouse Supervisor, Engineering and Inventory Clerk with any questions or concerns.
  • Works in tandem with peers on QC'ing jobs and timing of hose cutting for kits.
  • Trains others in best practices as well as takes instructions from others to ensure efficiencies on jobs.
  • Works with Shipping regarding current jobs needed for sales orders going out.
  • Keeps up on SSOP learnings on equipment used.
  • Keeps a clean and organized workspace.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Prerequisites:
  • TFI requires all members of our staff to fulfill all job functions in a consistent state of alertness and work in a safe manner
  • Applicants must be able to successfully pass the following:
    • Pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
    • Pre-employment criminal history background check
    • Pre-employment fitness for duty physical
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Required experience doing small parts assembly. Familiarity with automotive hardware, wiring harnesses is preferred.
  • Required minimum 1 year trade school or community college.
